ANNOUNCING ADDITION OF PRIYA PRABAKAR, LIGHTING DESIGNER
Michael Wall Engineering, Inc. is pleased to announce that Priya Prabakar has joined the firm as Lighting Designer. In this position, Priya will work on the firm’s lighting design for all facility types, including higher education, corporate office, retail, mixed-use and hospitality. Currently she is working on designs for the 440,000SF Sony’s North American Corporate Headquarters in Rancho Bernardo, as well as the UCSD Medical Education Center, Kyocera Corporate Offices, Sunroad Centrum Office Towers, and the University of San Diego. She studied architecture at the School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University in Chennai, India. Upon graduation she attended Purdue University where she received her Masters of Arts degree in Interior Design, providing her foundation in lighting education. Prior to joining this team, Priya had worked for three years in a leading national lighting design firm in Los Angeles, CA. She is Lighting Certified (LC), which is a professional certification awarded by the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP) to practitioners in lighting and related fields. Priya has high proficiency in lighting calculations and visualization tools and uses AGI32 for lighting design and analysis purposes. She says, “My design philosophy is to provide creative, yet practical and economically viable lighting solutions for the project. I strongly believe that effective lighting can serve as a valuable design element and enhance the environment beyond simply fulfilling it's purpose. My role is to find the balance between mechanics and asthetics.”

ANNOUNCING JAMES COOLEY, LEED ACCREDITED PROFESSIONAL
Michael Wall Engineering, Inc. is pleased to announce that James Cooley, Senior Project Engineer, has earned the U. S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional (AP) status. The LEED Green Building Rating System is designed to encourage energy and resource conservation in the construction and operation of buildings. James has over five years of electrical engineering experience as an electrical design engineer and project manager. His experience as an engineer has included numerous commercial, industrial, entertainment, and telecommunications projects. James served in the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Reactor Operator, specializing in Instrumentation and Control systems. He retired after 20 years of service at the rank of Electronics Technician Master Chief.
