Project Overview

Michael Wall Engineering provided full service electrical construction documents for this $36M student housing project in the West Village area at the University of California, Davis. The project is a part of a Net Zero sustainable community and consists of six 4-story residential buildings totaling 160,000SF of student housing (192 apartments) plus 45,000SF of shell commercial/retail. A two-story, 25,000SF Leasing and Recreation building complete with a Fitness Center, Game Area, Business Center, Meeting Rooms, Board Room, outdoor pool and patios was designed.

The electrical design integrated seven separate electrical services and associated utility infrastructure upgrades with highly-efficient energy systems to support the Net Zero community energy goals.   The electrical design accommodated 1000W rooftop photovoltaic systems for each of the 192 units.  The overall electrical design achieved 28% below Title 24 goals.
