Michael Wall Engineering, Inc. is preparing design/build electrical construction documents and site lighting design for eight (8) residential buildings on the North Campus of UCSD. The $93 million, 432,000SF complex will consist of a pair of five-story buildings, a pair of four-story buildings, a trio of three-story buildings, and a single 14-story building. The project is being designed to serve the needs of 1200 students, with the residences consisting of 2, 3, and 4 bedroom units. All buildings are situated around a series of internal courts and gardens, and will be connected with pedestrian circulation paths. The 8.5-acre site will also include conference and dining facilities, retail services, a café, administration offices, and a bookstore. Site and utility infrastructure upgrades, fire alarm, and specialty voice/data and communication systems are being designed to integrate into existing campus buildings.
