Michael Wall Engineering, Inc. provided electrical engineering services for this design/build 150,000SF office building and civic center for the City of Yuma. Site development, building shell interior and exterior were included. The exterior facility entrance includes building façade uplighting at the chambers and on large palm trees. A dramatic landscaped courtyard including full function lighting and a fountain is centered in the building. The use of City standard ornamental lighting fixtures has been incorporated in front of the building. The building has a 1,600SF raised floor computer room which is served by a 50kVA Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) System and a 150kW emergency generator. The emergency generator serves life-safety systems as well as a separate ATS switch for the computer room. The courthouse chamber includes a theatrical lighting/dimming system and an extensive audio/visual system. Linear indirect lighting is provided at the open office areas and lobbies, including track lighting and white neon cove lighting.
