Treatment Plan Expansion
Coachella Valley, California

The expansion of the Coachella WWTP from 2 million gallons to 10 million gallons required the design of a completely new 480V service entrance, with provision for a 12kV conversion. The plant expansion features a new headworks, aeration ponds, and chlorination basins. A dedicated electrical motor control building was constructed to house the (3) MCCs and several very large VFDs. A comprehensive control and automation system was designed to allow the plant to operate with a staff of only (4) employees. The entire plant is supported by a 1000kW emergency generator to ensure continuous operation.
