Operational Training Facility
Lemoore, California

Michael Wall Engineering, Inc. provided electrical engineering services for a 10,800 square foot expansion of the existing Operational Training Facility at Navel Air Station Lemoore. The new expansion houses 4 new state-of-the-art flight-training simulators with provisions for a fifth trainer. In addition to the simulator room the expansion includes simulator support rooms such as brief/de-brief rooms, MOC rooms and administration areas.
Electrical system design includes a 1200 amp 480 volt 3 phase service, providing power to each simulator PDU, as well as the general power for the support spaces. Lighting for the facility consists of a combination of energy efficient recessed fluorescent lighting with bi-level control and dimmable fluorescent down lighting within the associated simulator spaces. Signal systems included a conduit only system with ceiling cable tray for the telephone/data and security systems as well as a conduit only system meeting the requirements for the Government SIPRNet (Secure Information Protocol Router Network) data system.
Additional requirements for this project included conformance with government SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities) requirements as well as compliance the ATFP (Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection) requirements.
