Michael Wall Engineering, Inc. was the prime consultant in charge of the complete design of the new 8,000SF data center for SDCCU. The firm was responsible for all design aspects including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, structural engineering, and architectural design. The data center features (70) equipment racks, all monitored by a fully-manned Network Operation Center. The data center also features a 225kVA UPS system, with provision for a second redundant unit. The entire data center electrical system is further supplemented by a 750kW diesel-engine generator. The data center supports nearly 1,000 active gigabit ethernet data ports operating over a Category 6 horizontal cable plant with a 48MM/12SM fiber optic backbone.
