Project OverviewMichael Wall Engineering prepared the electrical and telecommunications construction documents for the 250,000SF renovation and expansion of the existing Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel in Jackson, California. This $80,000,000 project was performed on an active casino and included the addition of over 20,000SF of new cellular gaming floor that in-filled an existing performing arts theater. New food service venues (five in total) were added to the casino, including a juice bar, cafe, food court, buffet, and a high-end steakhouse. All areas of the casino feature custom lighting fixtures controlled by a state-of-the-art networked theatrical dimming system. Special attention was given to the new site lighting design which incorporated several large Native American statues integrated into the landscape. Existing electrical systems and equipment from previous phases of construction were re-located and re-used to reduce construction cost and minimize electrical outages. The telecommunications backbone system featured pre-terminated 50-micron multimode fiber optic cabling linking the (6) IDF rooms and (2) server rooms. All 1600 gaming machine locations and table game locations were served via CAT6A cabling. Digital signage, WiFi access points, background music speakers, and security cameras were all closely coordinated with the architect to seamlessly blend into the building design.
