LEGOLAND Hotel

Project Overview

Michael Wall Engineering produced electrical construction documents for the 137,370SF LEGO-themed, family-oriented hotel located on the LEGOLAND California site. The resort consists of a 3-story, 250-room hotel which includes a full service restaurant, LEGO-themed lobby, guest rooms, swimming pool and adjacent surface parking. The scope of work includes the relocation of existing 12kV duct banks, existing telecommunication duct banks and manholes to make way for the new hotel. Specialty lighting was designed for the lobbies, bar, restaurant and patio spaces including decorative and accent lighting to highlight the many detailed architectural and display features of the space. The facility was powered by extending the existing 12kV loop to two loop-fed pad-mounted transformers. A central Electronic Theatrical Controls dimming system was designed to provide the precise lighting levels required for each scene and activity. The building has been designed to meet California Title 24 Energy Code requirements.
