Michael Wall Engineering is providing electrical construction documents for the 115,000SF multi-phased renovation in the existing Edward J. Schwartz Federal Building located in downtown San Diego, CA. The $50 million project created new space for Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Custom Enforcement (DHS-ICE), Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), Federal Protective Service (FPS), U.S. Probation Office, and Childcare Center. Electrical distribution systems were renovated on each of the impacted floors.

New improvements were provided for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOR), and Social Security Administration (SSA). Additionally, Grand Jury space in the adjacent original Federal Courthouse wing was renovated. Building electrical system upgrades include automatic transfer switches replacements, main switchgear upgrade, new emergency generator, and a new electric fire pump.
